Birthday cake candles

It’s Chime’s birthday and Pearl has made her a cake. But when Chime blows out her candles they turn into cake beetles and devour the cake. The whole cake disappears before their eyes! How did this happen?

Chime and Pearl think they can solve the problem so that it never happens again. They have a torch ball and some pancake syrup to use. How will they do it?
