Pathway problems

The Shell Children are using stones from Snake River to build a path to their favourite tree in the Pancake Jungle. But each time they lay a stone it dissolves into the jungle floor. How can they stop this happening?

Dr Lizard says there is a solution. The bark of the hot pepper tree and the berries of the mirror bush are what they need. But how do they use them?
