Furkle’s friend, the Jack-a-quack-quack, once lived in the Kingdom of Keys. There are keys and locked doors and gates everywhere in the Kingdom.

Do some research on the topic of keys. See if you can discover where the first key was ever used and what it was made from. Find out about as many different types of keys as you can and how, why and when they might be used.

You could use some of these methods to find information about keys:

• Look around you and see how many different types of key you can find
• Talk to an expert on keys; it may be a locksmith who works with keys all the time
• Go to the library and look for anything about keys, their history and their purpose
• Find books, magazines or leaflets about keys
• Search for “keys” on the Internet with the help of an adult.
